Sourced directly from the farms of Shizuoka and Kagoshima, Japan, these tender leaves are picked from the first harvest of the year. Prior to picking, the leaves are shaded for up to 3 weeks which contributes to its vibrant green hue.
When it comes to health, matcha is like green tea taken to the max. You get more of everything you would get in a regular cup of green tea, including more caffeine, more antioxidants and vitamins. The presence of the amino acid L-Theanine in matcha means that the energy you get from the drink is slow-release. This tea comes from a blend of Yabukita, Asanoka and Oku Midori and will give you a feeling of "calm alertness" and help keep your energy levels up for three to six hours without the jitters and crashes that came with drinking coffee.
This smooth matcha is a rich earthy tea with a sweet nuttiness and a grassy and umami rich flavor with subtle sweetness on the finish. With more antioxidants per gram than blueberries, spinach and acai berries put together you can help protect your cells against free radicals while enjoying it in the traditional way or as a latte or smoothie.
